Dan Lemmer is an experienced professional, and outdoor enthusiast, with nearly 30 years of experience in graphic design, sign making, and wayfinding, as well as metallurgy, petrochemical furnace design, and ski-lift maintenance.
Based in Madison, WI since 2010, Dan has developed many long-term relationships with clients in a variety of industries, from health insurance and restaurants, to property management and non-profits. A passion for helping people discover the beauty of nature led to a multi-year project with the City of Steamboat Springs, CO, designing and implementing a wayfinding system that encompasses over forty trails in and around the city.
Dan relished his 17 years in the skiing and outdoor recreation industries in Colorado. He led Steamboat Ski Resort’s sign-making operations for five years. Responsible for designing, constructing, and installing all of the mountain and base area’s signs, he managed the manufacture, assembly, and reinstallation of more than 440 ski trail signs … and then did it all again the following year for summer biking and hiking signs. Altogether, Dan created or directed the design of thousands of pieces of imagery. Prior to that, as a Master Lift Technician for the resort, he was responsible for the safe operation and mechanical integrity of the one million passenger per year Steamboat Gondola.
Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from MIT and spent four years in the petrochemical engineering and construction industry.
